<p>When the first remaster was released, it was decided to simply note changes on their respective pages. I'd assume the same stance would carry over to this game as well. </p>

Turok EX Is Coming!

<p>Greetings, all! </p><p>As you may or may not be aware, Night Dive Studios' remaster of <i>Turok: Dinosaur Hunter</i> releases tomorrow (December 17)! In the interest of cutting down on content redundancies and confusion, I wanted to take the time to suggest some things going forward in regards to any edits that might revolve around the new release. </p>

Different though it might be from the original, it does not need a separate page. A section on the original game's page explaining the background and any differences will suffice. For the record, a page on the remaster was already made and subsequently deleted back when Night Dive first made their official announcement.
Any screenshots from the remaster should be labeled as being from the remaster in the file's summary/description. If any screenshots are placed in a gallery that already features original <i>Dinosaur Hunter</i> screens, then the caption should also note that it comes from the remaster.
If an image gallery already has sufficient images from the original game, then it is not necessary to populate it with an excessive number of screenshots from the remaster. A small handful of screenshots placed under a "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter HD Remaster" heading (or something similar) is fine if they add something new or interesting to the gallery.
And speaking of images, I would suggest not placing remaster screenshots in a specific category for now. They'll be fine in category limbo with the rest of the currently-uncategorized images.

<p>Bots are a method of executing multiple edits all at once. If, for example, it was determined that a specific word had been routinely misspelled on dozens of pages, all it would take is a simple Find/Replace command and a click of a button for the bot to fix that spelling error on every page that has it. Otherwise, someone would have to go through and do it manually. It's a time saving device, essentially. </p><p>The bot was already created a couple of weeks back, but your name is appreciated all the same. =P </p>

<p>A big thank you to community support member Kirkburn for flagging our bot account as an actual bot. It was a very quick process, I feel. Over the next few days, I'll be playing around with it, making some test pages and test categories, just to make sure everything's set up the way it should be before unleashing it upon the unsuspecting masses. </p><p>An email would be great, Preda, but if you have a Skype or some other instant messaging thing, I might pester you for that, too. =P </p>

Apologies for all of the delays, but work's been a bit hectic this past week, and I've wanted to make sure that I had enough time to get everything done. </p><p>And Preda, at some point, if it's alright with you, I'm going to need a more secure-ish way to contact you so I can give you the bot's password, just in case you want to use it as well. </p>

This was something that I was afraid might happen (considering there are only so many words that can go with "bot"), but "Dinobot" and any other decent-looking renditions ("DinoBot", "Dino Bot", etc.) have already been taken by previous Wikia accounts. I guess that's just what happens when you try a name that is also a group of Transformers. :V </p><p>I went ahead and tried "Tek Bot", "Turok Bot", and their variants, and they're free for the moment. Do we want one of these, or shall a newcomer take the stage? </p>

<p>A bot is an automated user account that can be used to edit pages. Usually they're used to mass edit a large number of pages all at once. They can perform spelling edits, fix disambiguation pages, and (the primary current use that I'm thinking of) move all pages from one category to another. All of the boring, repetitive stuff. </p>

Let's Name a Bot!

<p>Greetings, all! I think that it's about time for our wiki to have its very own bot. It certainly couldn't hurt, at least! And that's why I'm starting this discussion. It needs a name! </p><p>I've been trying to think of a decent pun that we could fit the word "Bot" into. But I feel that this sort of thing is better to outsource. Come up with your best <i>Turok</i>-related names that include the word "Bot," and whichever is collectively liked the most will be chosen as the bot's name. </p><p>My contribution is "Tek Bot". Post yours! </p>

<p>If by picture file you mean scans of the entire magazine, I'd be wary of doing so for the same nebulous legal reasons I'm personally against uploading scans of entire comic issues. I'd wait and see if Preda has anything to say about it. </p><p>That's a pretty good deal for two dollars, though. The comic part is an installment in Acclaim's <i>Turok</i> line, and it's one of the last entries before they shut down their comics division (only <i>Adon's Curse</i> and the crossover with Shadowman continue the story). </p>

<p>I just had the (admittedly kind of awful) idea of demaking later Turok games with <i>Dinosaur Hunter'</i>s graphics. But that's just an idea that I love; I've been wanting Half-Life 2 on the GoldSrc engine for years now, lol. </p><p>Imagine <i>Shadow of Oblivion</i> or even 2008's <i>Turok</i> except not. </p>
