Attack Robots are hostile creatures in Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. These large robots are colored either red or yellow. Both use an axe in melee range; the difference is in their long-range attacks. Reds use a machine gun, while yellows attack with a rocket launcher. The latter can withstand more damage than the former.
Appearance[]
Attack Robots are massive, bulky robotic enemies. They come in shades of red and yellow and are humanoid in overall appearance. They have a large band of armor across their chests and some on their legs. One of their arms is armed with a cannon; the other is a simple hand.
Their feet are dual toed, and they are rather short in appearance when stationary, just slightly taller than the player, though their height increases when in motion. Their heads are small in relation to their shoulders, which are bulky and large.
Gameplay[]
When fighting an Attack Robot, the player must take care to avoid its chaingun and heat-seeking missiles, as the amount of damage that they can cause is great. While small arms fire does not affect them, energy and explosive weapons do so greatly, as do high rate-of-fire weapons such as the Minigun. To overcome these formidable opponents, the player must keep their distance and use the Minigun, Quad Rocket Launcher, and Grenade Launcher.
With the Hardcore difficulty mode introduced in Night Dive Studios' HD remaster, these deadly machines are capable of inflicting serious damage to whomever may oppose them. The Attack Robot is one of the most destructive enemies in the game, having the best aim of them all. They are able to deliver a rain of bullets can fire multiple rockets at a time without missing. They patrol the Campaigner's Fortress in pairs of two or more. It is best to keep a distance in these situations and take cover while firing at them with either the Pulse Rifle or high-powered explosives. In open engagements, the Quad Rocket Launcher and Grenade Launcher can be used while circle strafing for quick disposals. The player must be mindful of other Attack Robots and enemies in the immediate area.
