The Cerebral Burst is a weapon featured in Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. It is Danielle Fireseed's upgrade to the standard Cerebral Bore.
Appearance[]
The Cerebral Burst sports an onyx coloration with a polished finish, as if recently assembled. The bores now feature a red LED indicator mounted at the back of the drill. The lightning pattern on the side pulsates at a faster rate and seems to split in two at the middle.
A bigger barrel is also outfitted to the weapon to support the added weight and volume of the redesigned drill.
Gameplay[]
The Cerebral Burst works the same way as the Cerebral Bore. However, instead of drilling into the skull and then exploding, the Cerebral Burst now features a countdown timer. Five seconds after drilling into its intended target, the drill will self destruct, killing anyone caught in the blast radius.
The target itself can still attack, retreat, or even rush the player, as the bore is now intended to be used as a martyr-maker. The player can detonate the bore at any time, even while it is mid-air.
