  • Looking at the in-game model, I think the Beast's total length might be double, if not, triple its length seen above water most of the time. Do you agree with that?

  • Hi.

  • I was wondering if adims can delete comments because many of the comments on Joseph Turok's page are pointless and a waste of space. Plus over half of the comments on the characters page are complaints. One person on the comment page called many on there disgusting and no person should call another person disgusting.

Comments are so post to talk about good things on a page there is nothing good about the comments on Joseph Turok's page. The comments are mostly people just hating each all because no one sees eye to eye over what the page says about the character.

    • I deleted a few that were off kilter, more so offensive ones. Thanks for the notif.

    • Even though I am a stright man I am not gay and I don't support gay things. Some people have called me gay and then some people call me homophobic so I have seen the ugly side from stright people a d gay people. It's good that you are taking care of the problem I am a stright man who has seen jerks on both sides of the argument when it comes to things like this.

And I know that both stright and gay people can both be jerks, rude as well as disrespectful because both strights and gays have been nasty to me in real life and by real life I mean offline.

Also your welcome I decided to tell you about that because I knew that no one else was going to tell you about it and no one was going to do anything. So thanks for fixing all of that.

  • I seem to remember going on a website that I'm fairly sure was for Turok. The first thing it said when I entered the site was to have me enter my birth date. If you're to young, it won't let you see its content. I think it was one of those websites that give some information about the game, as its release date was approaching. Can you confirm this?

    • Thinking about it some more, I remember that the birth date part; we only had to say the year we were born. And we don't type it in; the site gave some year choices, so we needed to click on our birth year. I can remember when I clicked on my actual birth year and tried to enter, it wouldn't let me. So what I did next was click away, go back to that page, and chose the earliest year choice. That's how I got in. Unfortunately, my memory doesn't hold up after this point. :(

    • Maybe three years ago now, I was able to get past the birthdate page by going through a mirror elsewhere. I want to say it was something Touchstone-related, but hell if I can remember how I got there. I remember finding some piece of concept art, I think it was for the flamethrower, that I was going to upload here, but I couldn't figure out how to extract the image from the flash running the site, so I left it alone.

turok.jp still sort of works on the Wayback Machine, but the drop-down menus don't populate. And I can't get Disney Interactive's stuff to work right without it flipping out over the fact that it exists or whatever.

If anybody wants to try to back their way into it like I did years ago, feel free. I just can't remember how I did it. :V

  • I guess the Mama Scarface model in the ps3 and pc versions is the third design while the one in the xbox 360 version is the second design... correct? Any guesses on why they would put a different model in the 360 version?

  • This isn't Turok related. Something weird happened when I was on Youtube. On a gamer youtuber's most recent video, I decided to post a comment saying that it was an awesome video and then asked if he recorded the next gameplay episode of King Kong and then asked whether if he wants me to tell him Kong's movesets or not. When I clicked "post", my comment transformed into a completely different comment. The transformed comment was like a rather negative critique of his channel and it ends with something like "...still not a bad video bro." Luckily, I double-checked and deleted that comment and re-posted the comment that I meant to say (It showed the correct comment this time). Do you have any idea what happened there? (Btw, I used my phone to comment)

    • Used my phone to comment on that guy's video I mean.

    • Unless you had something written on your clipboard, I have no idea.

    • Looking back at that video's comment section, I noticed that someone else's comment perfectly matches what my comment altered into. And no, I didn't have anything written in my clipboard. Regardless, at least my comment didn't get altered the second time. I am definitely going to double-check any comment I post on a youtube video from now on.

  • Hey, Preda. Since Fandom put out an update on the status of portable infoboxes, I've been looking into trying to wrap my brain around the dang things so that we can update. But, as usual, I'm making a mess of things. Here's what I was going for:

Over on the Star Wars wiki, they have a theme system set up where you specify a "type" in the infobox as you're making it, and that type makes the infobox a specific color. These colors are typed up on a InfoboxColors.css page which works in conjunction with an Infoboxes.css page. Supposedly, both CSS pages are imported to run from that wiki's Common.css page. The idea being that if I wanted to use the Character template in an article, and the article was for a Jedi, I could write "|type=Jedi" in the infobox template on the article's edit page and the infobox would take on the Jedi-specific colors noted in InfoboxColors.css. You can see where I tried to set us up on a similar system, using our Item Infobox template as a test; I didn't get very far, though, and I'm not sure why.

So I figure one of two things is happening. 1. I'm incredibly incompetent (very likely!) and missing some key code somewhere that would make all of this work; or 2. We have some code already in place that's overriding this theme system.

Do you have any ideas or insights? I'd love to go ahead and get us transferred over to the portable infoboxes now that a.) it's supposedly easier to use, and b.) I understand how it works even just a little bit more.

We do have an issue that I'm also not sure how to fix: our titles and headers in the portable infobox setup we are currently using have these bright green borders around them. It's the same green that we use for the H1/H2/etc. headers on the article bodies, and I don't know how to get it to stop. See the test over on this sandbox page. There's also a larger white border between Other Names and Biological Information that I'd like to sort out as well.

So for the moment, our Item Infobox template is out of order, but at least it's one of the lesser-used templates.

And if you can't/don't figure this out, that's fine. We can always flag one of the Fandom staff and have them take a look at it.

    Cheers

    • I appreciate the offer, but I think I'd like to handle it myself. When I get started, it's kind of relaxing, lol. And I don't mind the work. Thank you, though!

I do have a question for you: I discovered that portable infoboxes don't like nested tabbers, and Fandom doesn't seem willing to fix them (says they look bad and are a bad practice or whatever). We don't have too many pages that have nested tabbers, but what should we do for the ones that do? I was thinking either have one image in the infobox and put the rest in the gallery, or combine images together per game tab (for example: for the Health page, we would take the 10, 20, Full, and Ultra health images under Shadow of Oblivion and combine them into one image, still under Shadow of Oblivion; the individual images would still go in the gallery). What say you? Any ideas?

    • That's cool, and know the feeling. Can be very cathartic. Don't want to be condescending, but don't burn yourself out. If you need the help, I can assist.

To the infobox images, I'd go with combining and simplifying the tabbers. Easy solution with the same content. Just less clicking.

  • Since there are no sources that state those stats, I think those numbers for Mama Scarface in the "Tyrannosaurus rex" page should be removed as well.
