The Mini-Raptor is a small theropod dinosaur that made its first appearance in Turok.
Appearance[]
Mini-Raptors possess a bright blue skin color, and uncannily large eyes. Like Utahraptors, they feature quill-like features that are soft orange. While they're smaller than most other dinosaurs in the game outside of Echindon, they're still large relative to humans, being about the size of a child.
Gameplay[]
These dinosaurs act much like the Compsognathus of Turok: Evolution. They will nibble at the player's ankles and will also attack in groups.
They are very weak in a one-on-one fight, and most weapons will kill them in one shot. In groups however, they can easily take the player down due to repeated hits and slashes from their claws and teeth, especially on Inhuman difficulty. They are very weak to standard weapons, but combat knife kills are very effective on them. They are not conventionally attracted to flares; using the ORO Enforcer Shotgun's secondary fire is effectively useless against them. They're also very vulnerable to explosives, including grenades and Tek arrows.
History[]
As Joseph Turok and Slade walked under the shadow of a giant theropod's skull, they would fight a large group of Mini-Raptors by a downed helicopter. The arrival of a Utahraptor would send the rest scattering. Isolated pockets of the dinosaurs would be found en route to MG-20B.
More of these dinosaurs would be found during the rescue of Cowboy, and the search for the communications unit, with a large amount of these dinosaurs occupying areas outside of Mother Superior. They would also be found outside of Whiskey Company's crashsite, attacking Carter, Turok, and Slade in droves, even as large scorpion-like insects began to surface from subterranean tunnels.
These dinosaurs would not be encountered by Whiskey following Turok and Slade's escape from the planet's underground tunnels.
