- "This high-powered rifle is extremely accurate from long range and includes a scope for picking off targets at extreme distances. Its Secondary function provides a selection of zoom ranges, from 2x to 10x."
- —Turok manual[1]
The TRIGLAV 92 (T92) Stalker sniper rifle is a high-precision, long-range rifle manufactured by TRIGLAV that was first introduced during the events of Turok. This weapon is the signature of Reese, but would mostly see use with Sniper units within the Mendel-Gruman Corporation.
Appearance[]
This weapon features all the design traits of the average sniper rifle, including a defined scope, a long barrel, and a short stock. It features a thumbhole stock like the FP9 SMG and ORO Enforcer shotgun, however unlike these two weapons, its ammunition is displayed to the user through a display above the weapon's bolt handle, counting each round fired of the five within a magazine. IV.PAT.1337-KG-2582-0 can be found engraved on the T92's chassis.
Gameplay[]
Single-player[]
Within Turok's single-player component the T92 is a rare weapon, making sporadic appearances during and following Mother Superior. The weapon is highly precise when scoped in, possessing no recoil or projectile spread in any capacity. It's damage is also high, being able to kill most small targets in a single round, with anything capable of surviving the first shot likely dying within the second. While powerful and precise, the weapon is bolt-action, adding a delay between every shot fired, and making missed shots under pressure scenarios problematic.
When fired from the hip, this weapon's accuracy decreases dramatically, featuring no proper reticle of any kind. As such, it should not be used out of scope unless necessary.
Multiplayer[]
The Stalker operates much akin to the C9 Perforator in multiplayer, being a high-precision, high-damage, single-shot weapon. As most targets within multiplayer are small, this weapon can almost always guarantee a one shot kill, even without a headshot. Additionally, it provides no feedback for opponents to recognize the weapon at range.
Secondary function[]
The secondary function of the T92 is a series of zoom ranges with the rifle's scope. Coming in at 2x, 5x, and 10x, it dramatically increases the lethal range of this weapon, with the user being able to pick off a target from an extreme range. When in scope, targeting threats will cause the sniper's HUD to shift from blue to red. The notable downside to this is that the scope takes up a wide part of the player's view.
Pickups[]
- Sniper Rifle: Restores 10 sniper rifle rounds.
- Sniper Rifle Ammo: Restores 10 sniper rifle rounds.
History[]
Shortly after escaping the caverns under Death Valley, Joseph Turok would be attacked by a Utahraptor. A well-placed sniper shot by Reese would kill the animal and save Turok, with the marksman going on to utilize it against the nearby Mendel-Gruman force, and a pack of Lurkers.
When Turok, Foster, and Gonzales were sent into Mother Superior, they came across an old outpost. Two marksman units were posted up in the outpost, one of which killed Foster immediately with the T92. Turok would then go on to utilize the Stalker against incoming Mendel-Gruman forces in an effort to find the comm unit.
Reese would later provide overlook with his sniper during the nighttime assault on Whiskey's campsite. Days later, the sniper would be used to scout out an incoming Mendel-Gruman convoy, forcing Whiskey to hide and let them pass. This sniper saw its last major use during the initial scouting of a large Mendel-Gruman complex, as Reese would use the weapon to look for potential threats. He would fail to notice John Grimes in time, the latter of which had already fired an arrow from his C9 Perforator bow, which struck and killed him.
