- For the weapon featured in Turok, see ORO C9 Perforator Bow.
- "A sophisticated bow with added strength, this is the first step in distance fighting."
- —Turok: Dinosaur Hunter manual[1]
- " The Tek Bow is a much stronger bow equipped with special arrows that make enemies cry out for death. A powerful two-stage sniper zoom makes the Tek Bow a supreme choice for long range attacks."
- —Turok: Evolution manual[2]
The Tek Bow is an iconic weapon of the Turok franchise, first introduced as Turok's signature weapon in Valiant's 1993 comic, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, before being featured in Acclaim Entertainment's 1997 video game, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. It would become a mainstay of the Acclaim series, returning in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, and Turok: Evolution.
Appearance[]
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter[]
In Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, the Tek Bow has the design of a compact bow made of metal, with some parts colored a velvet-like red. Its design is basic, much akin to the Bow.
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil[]
The Tek Bow returned in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. This version of the bow is made of iron and still maintains the compact design, sporting red stripes reminiscent of its predecessor's color scheme.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion[]
Its appearance now has a draw string that can extend further, and it can only shoot Tek arrows. The bow now sports a light grey color to it. Like its predecessor, the Tek Bow can be used for sniping (by pressing right on the Nintendo 64 controller's directional pad), although the bow itself lacks a scope.
Turok: Evolution[]
In Turok: Evolution, the Tek Bow features a striking new redesign, with a bright red paintjob, with unique carvings along its upper and lower limbs. This bow's limbs appear to be, in part, made of animal bone. The weapon's scope is mounted right above the arrow shelf.
Gameplay[]
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter[]
The Tek Bow of Dinosaur Hunter is one of the base weapons available to the player. Featuring a relatively quick draw time and Tek arrows, this weapon is highly versatile within Dinosaur Hunter's sandbox. If the player draws and holds an arrow, a sparkle on the arrowhead will indicate the launched arrow will deal more damage on impact. This is one of two weapons in Dinosaur Hunter that can make fallen enemies drop the Mortal Wound, the other weapon being the Knife.
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil[]
The Tek Bow returns, although unlike its predecessor, is unable to be used immediately. Additionally, the Tek Bow now has a scope that can be toggled for sniping.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion[]
The Tek Bow of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is an upgrade of Danielle Fireseed's Bow.
Turok: Evolution[]
In Turok: Evolution, the Tek Bow functions as an entirely separate weapon to the original Bow. It isn't a starting weapon, but can be found early on in "Jungle Hunter". Upon retrieval, the Tek Bow effectively replaces the bow, featuring a wider array of arrows, and a two-stage sniper scope.
Unlike the Bow, the Tek Bow requires a consistent charged shot to fire, it however, features more stopping power in turn. On top of being able to fire basic and explosive arrows, the Tek Bow can utilize a third variant: poison arrows. These arrows can near-immediately fatally poison any target up to a Guard with a headshot, with any shot below the neck still usually providing a kill for the player. Arrows for the weapon can be retrieved in a similar manner to the Bow, with poison arrows turning into basic arrows upon use.
As per above, the Tek Bow includes a two-stage scope, featuring a zoom much more extreme than the comparable sniper scope of the Pistol. With no spread and little projectile drop off, this enables the Tek Bow to be a more powerful sniper-based weapon when the scope is tied with explosive or poison arrows.

- —Arrow manual description[3]

- Poison Arrows: Restocks 8 poison arrows.
Production notes[]
Many incarnations of this weapon feature an incomplete view model, which is usually hidden by the player's hand, likely serving as a way for the developers to save time making weapon assets. Occasionally the player is able to see the weapon's missing lower limb.
The Tek Bow was intended to return in Evolution's cancelled sequel, Turok: Resurrection, alongside the War Club, and the Cerebral Bore. [4]
